7•10•2005 Today we hosted the National Pro Sled Shootout, as well as a regular event for all our other classes. We had a great weather day to complete this event and here are the results.
In the Dalton Quick 16 race, which was a heads-up contest, we had an extremely close final round. Jeff Cullen from Grey, Maine drove his 1500ci '04 Polaris to the win with a .495 light on the .400 Pro tree and ran an 8.919 at 153.58 mph to defeat Gary Carlson on his '03 Ski-doo. Gary, from Cheektowaga, NY, had a .514 light and ran an 8.935 at 149.54 mph for the well-deserved runner-up finish. John Edwards, on his '99 Ski-doo and Greg Roes on his powerful D&D Arctic Cat were the semifinalists.
In the Camoplast Pro Sled Bracket Bash, there were 111 competitors all making their bid on the $3,000 first place purse. In the final round, it was ESTA's weekly competitor Mike Stiles on his '94 Ski-doo taking the win with a .560-initiated, 10.153 at 121.32 mph run on his 10.02 dial-in to defeat the red lighting Phil DeSantis on his '96 Polaris. Phil had a .479 red light and coasted to the runner-up spot. John Edwards made it to his second semifinal finish of the day on his '99 Ski-doo.
